Zirakpur : Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh today said his party was committed to fulfil all promises made in its election manifesto.
“We will create an investor-friendly environment and make the state’s industrial policy more liberal,” he said, while inaugurating a retail store here.
Interacting with the media, Capt Amarinder reiterated his commitment to waive farm loans, saying the government would soon find ways and means to bail out debt-ridden farmers. He said the welfare of the public and the development of the state was the top priority of his government. He said a new industrial policy aimed at wooing investors and concurrently generating employment for the local youth would be unveiled soon.
The Chief Minister said his government would try to undo the damage done by the Badals during their 10-year regime. Referring to the promise of eliminating drugs menace from the state, the CM said the special task force (STF) formed for the purpose was firmly dealing with the scourge and would ensure that drugs were wiped out soon.
On the issue of corruption, Amarinder said necessary steps were being taken for the same and the government was working hard to put things in order. He said they would soon bring out a “White Paper” on the state’s economy, to expose the financial havoc wreaked by the Akalis.
Replying to another query, the CM said the government had also initiated the process of curbing illegal mining. He said mines would be auctioned in the coming days after which the prices of sand and gravel would normalise.
