CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira on Monday praised Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s initiatives to depoliticise civil and police administration, scrap ‘halqa in-charge’ system, ban red beacons and do away with the foundation stone ceremonies. Khaira, chief whip of the principal opposition party in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, said the previous SAD government had shamelessly politicised the civil and police administrative mechanism, grossly misusing the police to settle personal scores with their political opponents.
