Australian NRI, three of kin booked for dowry harassment

LUDHIANA: The NRI police station has booked an NRI and his kin for dowry harassment following the complaint of a Vishal Nagar resident
In his complaint, Pardeep Kamal submitted that his daughter, Dipti, married Karamjit Singh of Australia on January 22, 2012. He added that Karamjit had cancer, but his family, residents of Tilak Nagar, New Delhi, concealed the fact from them before the marriage.
He alle ged that after a few months after t he marriage, Karamjit, his brother, Kulwinder Singh, father Narinder Singh and mother Asha Rani started harassing his daughter for dowry.
“On May 2013, the accused took Dipti to Australia where they mentally and physically harassed her for dowry. The harassment continued even after they returned to India in December 2013,” Kamal further alleged.
Following his complaint , Karamjit, his parents and brother have been booked for dowry harassment. All accused are at large.
