YAD dist president booked for sheltering gangster

Ludhiana : A day after the Youth Akali Dal (YAD) district president Gurpreet Singh Babbal was booked for land grabbing, the division number 5 Police on Saturday slapped another case on Babbal for providing shelter to gangster.
A case has been registered under section 212, 216 of IPC.
Station House officer (SHO) at Police station division number 5 Inspector Vinod Kumar said that case has been registered after investigation by Crime Branch.
The FIR against Babbal reads that Babbal use to provide shelter to gangster Sukhpreet Singh Sukha Barewalia. Sukha was booked in one dozen cases of attempt to murder, dacoity, land grabbing and others. The gangster use to stay at the place of Babbal. On Friday also, Babbal and Sukha Barewalia was booked by Sarabha nagar Police for grabbing land in posh locality. The case was lodged by Rajdeep Singh, nephew of Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Congress leader from Atam nagar constituency.
Sidhu alleged that earlier Police was under the influence of SAD- BJP government and avoided case against Babbal.
Meanwhile, Babbal refuted all the allegations and termed the case as Political vendetta against him.
