PATIALA: With Akalis out of power, the Badal family-owned Orbit bus which was once considered ‘unstoppable’, was impounded on Monday after it was involved in a collision with a bike at the Leela Bhavan Chowk here.

Interestingly, the bus, which was on its way from Chandiagrh to Bathinda, was impounded even as its driver had shifted the injured biker to the hospital after the accident.

The bus was released after five hours as the mishap victim Amandeep Singh, who had sustained minor injuries on his right foot, did not press any charges. Inspector Gurnam Singh said after recording the statement of the victim, the bus was allowed to leave.
