CHANDIGARH: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Partap Singh Bajwa on Monday said the logic given by chief minister Parkash Singh Badal about the induction of his daughter-inlaw Harsimrat Kaur Badal in the Narendra Modi cabinet had come under question following the revelation made by SAD secretary general Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa.
The PPCC chief said Badal had attributed her elevation as the union cabinet minister to her performance during her last tenure as MP as she was the most vocal Akali Dal member in the House.
He had given the impression that she was picked up by Modi purely on merit and the dynastic factor had not played any role in this.
Bajwa, however, referred to the statement given by Dhindsa who had maintained that he had recommended the names of Balwinder Singh Bhunder, a senior party leader and a Rajya Sabha member, and Prem Singh Chandumajra, who has won from Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha seat.
