CHANDIGARH: Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa on Thursday claimed that the investors’ summit of December 2013, which was followed by the agriculture summit in February, had proved a big hoax as no memorandum of understanding (MOU) had finally materialised.

In a press statement, he said that as per the information gathered under the Right to Information Act by the RTI cell of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC), 138 MoUs were signed of which 10 related to the agriculture summit.

“Of the 138 MoUs, the present status of only 48 MoUs has been provided and that too is shrouded in ambiguity. Nothing is known about the fate of the remaining 90 MoUs,” Bajwa said in a release.

Bajwa slammed deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for “wasting Rs 4 crore of the public money” on organising the investment summit, which did not include expenditure on publicity.
