Fatehgarh Sahib : The alleged verbal spat between Congress MLA Kuljeet Singh Nagra and Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Pooja Syal took a political turn today.

While Congress workers burnt an effigy of the SDM near the district administrative complex, the SAD women wing demanded action against the MLA.

The Congress workers alleged the SDM misbehaved with the legislator. They submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Arun Sekhri seeking action against Syal. On the other hand, Balvir Kaur, district president of the SAD women wing, sought action against Nagra. Sekhri said he would take action after recording the statements of Syal and Nagra tomorrow.

Chandigarh: The Congress alleged certain officials were trying to play "ultra-loyal" to the SAD-BJP government. While senior leader Capt Amarinder Singh took exception to the "breach of protocol by the Fatehgarh Sahib SDM," PPCC chief Partap Singh Bajwa said it was wrong on the part of the SDM to ask the people to contact her directly instead of approaching their elected representative.
