Cong enters into alliance with PPP

Jagraon : The chief of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, Partap Singh Bajwa, today announced that the Congress would enter into alliance with the Peoples Party of Punjab (PPP) for the coming Municipal Council elections in Punjab.

Bajwa spoke to the mediapersons at the residence of a former Jagraon MLA, Gurdeep Singh Bhaini, today.

The state Congress chief also declared that the Congress would soon carry out a ‘yatra’ in the state to highlight the shortcomings of the government of the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in Punjab. He said the party leaders would visit every constituency of Punjab to expose the alleged corrupt regime of the SAD-BJP government.

“The paddy crop is almost ready for harvesting but the state government has not made arrangements for proper procurement of the paddy crop. If the farmers are made to suffer due to delay in paddy procurement, the Congress would gherao the residence of the Chief Minister and other ministers of his cabinet,” said Bajwa.

An MP from Ludhiana, Ravneet Singh Bittu, former minister Darshan Singh Brar, former MLAs Amrik Singh Dhillon, Tejparkash Singh Kotli and Major Singh Bhaini were also present during the occasion.
