MOGA: Lashing out at Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) chief Partap Singh Bajwa said Badals had ignored the basic issues of the Punjabis for their business interests.

Bajwa said former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Amritsar, Navjot Singh Sidhu, had rightly said the Badal government was building castles in the air while there was no development on ground.

Addressing a public rally at Nihal Singh Wala, 45 km from the district headquarters on Thursday, Bajwa strongly opposed the borrowing and sale of public properties by the SAD-BJP government to clear its debt and asked the President of India to declare financial emergency in the state.

“I will take up the issue of sale of government properties by the SAD-BJP government with the President and apprise him of the economic mess created by the present government,” Bajwa said.

“Governance is the last thing on the agenda of the chief minister who has other priorities. Actually, Badal has lost control over administration and is shielding corrupt ministers in his cabinet,” said the PPCC chief.

Bajwa also accused Badal and Sukhbir of promoting drug trade. Various senior leaders also addressed the gathering.
