Chandigarh : The Punjab Pradesh Congress today decided to meet the President to seek the dismissal of the Punjab government. The Party demanded a CBI probe not only into the international synthetic drug racket under the supervision of a sitting Supreme Court judge, but also “narco-terrorism” in Punjab.

“Akali MLA Virsa Singh Valotha has himself admitted on the floor of the House that he was a terrorist and is still one. This amply establishes the narco-terrorism link in Punjab. Also, Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia has been summoned by the ED in the drug racket. We will write to the President to seek an appointment, We will seek the dismissal of the state government that has miserably failed to contain the drug trade and save thousands of lives," said CLP Leader Sunil Jakhar, Jagmohan Singh Kang, Parminder Pinki, Raja Warring and Sukhjinder Randhawa.

Finger pointed at Sharma's PA

On the basis of documents provided by Pinki, Jakhar alleged that a Ferozepur resident, Jimmy Sandhu, said to be a PA of state BJP chief' Kamal Sharma, allegedly had links with terrorists. “He has photos with Kamal Sharma. His links have been mentioned in a report filed by then Ferozepur DSP (Investigation). We want a CBI probe on this issue too,” Jakhar said.

Sharma denied Jakhar’s allegations. “ Jimmy Sandhu is the president of the Ferozepur district unit of the Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha and is my PA. He has no links with any terrorist. If Jakhar has anything on record, he should place it in the public domain,” he said.
