CHANDIGARH: People’s Party of Punjab (PPP) chief Manpreet Singh Badal on Wednesday sought an apology from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur for allegedly stating that Manpreet had no place in the AAP.

Claiming in a statement here that he had no intention to join the AAP, Manpreet said, “We have our own party which is founded on the principles and doctrine whose focus is the common man. The PPP hit the political scene much before AAP. Chhotepur should know that it is the AAP which has copied PPP’s agenda as far as the empowerment of the common man and end to the VIP culture is concerned.”

Manpreet also stated that he had never approached any AAP leader in Punjab or Delhi for joining that party. “The PPP will continue to charter its own course in the Punjab political stream,” he added.
