LEHRA GAGA (SANGRUR): Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Rajinder Kaur Bhattal said here on Wednesday that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, at the Centre has been an absolute failure as it has failed to set any agenda for the development of the country.

Bhattal said that the Prime Minister is busy in his foreign tours and has no time to solve the problems of his own countrymen. She said it seemed that Modi has become the PM of the world rather than of India.

The Modi government made tall promises before coming to power, but was now only working for the benefit of a handful of industrial houses, Bhattal added. She claimed that the PM was spreading false propaganda that no money was left by the previous UPA government.

Bhattal said that due to the Modi government’s anti-people policies, Punjab has also suffered on the development front.

Even the Badal government failed to get a special economic package from the BJP-led NDA government.

She said it is really unfortunate that chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has been compelled to clarify that the BJP was part of the cabinet meeting which took the decision to levy entry tax on sugar in the state. She said that the BJP had reportedly alleged that the party was kept in the dark on the decision.
