Rahul likely to visit Ludhiana on February 16

Ludhiana : The vice president of Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Ludhiana on February 16 to participate in the function of Dr B R Ambedkar. The state Congress has decided to organise a function on the occasion of Dr B R Ambedkar Jayanti on February 15 and 16, where Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Captain Amarinder Singh will be presiding over the function.

The Congress leaders have also invited Rahul Gandhi to attend the function and his staff have confirmed the visit.

Ludhiana District Congress Committee (DCC) chief Gurpreet Bassi Gogi said that most probably Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Ludhiana to participate in the function and an official announcement will be made shortly.

To make the event a huge success, the Congress has called around 100 persons from all the constituencies of Punjab. A series of meetings for the preparations have also started.

After being elevated as president of PPCC, Captain Amarinder will visit Ludhiana for the first time and local Congress leaders have pulled up their socks for preparations for the event.

The district Congress is also set to show a united face as both the factions led by Gurpreet Gogi and former district Congress president Pawan Dewan were involved in the preparations for the function.
