Ludhiana : First-time MP from Fatehgarh Sahib Dr Amar Singh has demanded from the Centre to develop the historic city of Fatehgarh Sahib as an international tourism centre. Keeping his first question as a Member of Parliament during the Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Dr Amar Singh said that Fatehgarh Sahib Nagar has a significant place among followers of Sikhism and people who have ratified humanity. He urged the Union government to provide the highest level of basic infrastructural facilities in the city to make the historicity of the great sacrifice of the Sikh warriors and martyrs may be known by younger generations globally.

Under this ambitious programme, 550 saplings each in 1913 villages have already been planted besides process for planting the same in another 4345 villages already underway.
