CHANDIGARH : Punjab has been the only place for the Congress where everything has been going on so well for last two years since Capt Amarinder led the party to a sweeping victory in 2017. Even now, the party did extraordinarily well in the General Elections, when the entire country was faced with the saffron surge. For the beleaguered party, Punjab has promised not just a ray of hope, but lot of sunshine.

FARIDKOT: A court of judicial magistrate (first class), Ekta Uppal, issued summons to former Akali MLA Mantar Singh Brar, then Ludhiana additional deputy commissioner (ADCP) Paramjit Singh Pannu, then Kotkapura deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Baljit Singh and then Kotkapura city station house officer (SHO) Gurdeep Singh Pandher in the Kotkapura firing case after they failed to appear before the court on Saturday.

CHANDIGARH: Expressing concern over the water crisis in Northern India, Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Saturday sought the Prime Minister’s support for upgrading his state’s water distribution infrastructure, while calling for a fresh river waters tribunal to address the disputes among neighbouring states.

Chandigarh : Taking strict note of the reports of economic exploitation of parents by the managements of certain private schools, Vijay Inder Singla Education Minister Punjab has issued directions that all the private schools affiliated to CBSE/ICSE and Punjab School Education Board across the State shall not direct or compel parents to buy school uniform and books from an earmarked shop/firm.
