Govt puts in place new policy for streamlining vigilance clearance

Chandigarh : In a bid to streamline the process of getting vigilance clearance for retiring employees or those seeking promotions, Punjab government has introduced a new policy under which Vigilance Bureau (VB) would prepare a department-wise negative list of the employees involved in any vigilance enquiry or against whom FIR has been registered.

Blue Star Operation : Court issues notices to CM, Dy CM and Punjab CS

Chandigarh : A local court of the civil judge (senior division) has issued notices to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and Punjab Chief Secretary in a case relating to the construction of Blue Star Operation memorial. The case has been filed by an NGO Global Human Rights Council chairperson Arvind Thakur. All the three defendants have been asked to reply to the notice by October 15, 2012.
