Chandigarh – State Power and Irrigation Minister Rana Gurjit Singh on Wednesday reiterated that Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has started process to recruit 2,800 assistant line men, 330 LDC, 253 sub station attendants, and 300 JES. Apart from these, 384 dependants of PSPCL employees has been given jobs on companionate grounds and jobs to 60 more dependents would be provided soon.

New Delhi: MP Sunil Jakhar highlighted the problems of Punjab’s potato growers in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. He said growers had faced heavy losses last year despite a bumper production. He sought to know from the Centre about its plans to insulate farmers from such losses. Raising the issue during question hour, he said the farmers were being compelled to sell potato at rates ranging from 50 paise to Rs 2 per kg.
