Capt meets Rahul day after being made PPCC chief

New Delhi: A day after being appointed Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday met party vice president Rahul Gandhi here to thank him for the decision and discuss the plan of action in the state which goes to polls in 2017. Singh, the Deputy Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha, was received by the Gandhi scion with a warm hug, signalling bonhomie between the two leaders. Singh had been critical of Rahul in the past but later he advocated for Rahul’s elevation to the post of party president.

Chandigarh: The newly appointed Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh on Friday thanked Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi for reposing their faith in him to lead the party in the state. He expressed confidence that he would come to their expectations along with those of the people, party workers and leaders across the state as all of them saw hope in the Congress. He said that he would take everybody along and the Congress will fight the elections with complete unity and full strength.
