Bhaini Sahib (Khanna) : Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee chief Capt Amarinder Singh, along with the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader Sunil Jakhar, visited Bhaini Sahib today. They met the widow of Satguru Jagjit Singh and the next Namdhari head, Satguru Uday Singh. The visit assumes significance in the wake of the "succession war" within the sect and the recent protests against former state Congress president HS Hanspal, who is the Namdhari Darbar (Bhaini Sahib) president.

Chandigarh : It's the end of the road for so many mini buses in Punjab. A Division Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, while quashing the Punjab Mini Bus Service Scheme, 2010, today ruled that private mini bus operators in the state were thriving.

CHANDIGARH: A day after Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal expelled Congress MLA Rana Gurjit Singh for allegedly using abusive l anguage i n the House against revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia, the ruling Akali- BJP alliance expressed eagerness to reinstate the legislator on Thursday. However, the move apparently backfired as the Punjab Congress refused to oblige.
