Chandigarh : Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Wednesday impressed upon the Union Ministry of External Affairs to take up the matter with their counterparts in Central Asian countries for relaxation in visa norms to promote trade and commercial activity amongst these nations in a big way.

Chandigarh : Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Punjab on October 19 once again. This time he will be visiting Jalandhar where he is scheduled to meet councillors of various nagar councils, municipal corporation members and those of zila parishads and panchayat samitis. The aim is to have a “feel of the ground situation,” said sources.

Chandigarh : The Punjab Congress today claimed Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was shielding the key accused in the case involving the abduction of a minor girl in Faridkot. It submitted a memorandum to Governor Shivraj Patil highlighting the “all-round failure” of the state government.
