CHANDIGARH: Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh will meet Israel President Reuven Rivlin on October 23. During his five-day visit, beginning October 21, the former will discuss a wide range of subjects with Rivlin. Accompanied by a high-level delegation of officials, the Chief Minister is scheduled to meet Israeli Minister for Agriculture Uri Ariel and Minister of Energy and Water Resources Dr Yuval Steinitz. Two important MoUs are expected to be signed, one of which is related to water management.

CHANDIGARH: Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, seeking a compensation of ₹100 per quintal for the state’s farmers for not burning paddy stubble. The CM also requested the PM for settlement of ₹31,000-crore Cash Credit Limit (CCL) gap and sought the Centre’s assistance for celebration of the 550th birth anniversary of the first Sikh master, Guru Nanak, in November 2019.
