Sikhs denied ride in US, NAPA objects

The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has written to a senior vice president, FEC (family entertainment Centre) division, Gregg Borman, over denial to ride go-karts to four turbaned Sikh boys on July 28 at Boomers Livermore Amusement Park in California. Arminder Singh and his cousins Gurpreet Singh, Diljit Singh and Jaskirat Singh were reportedly not allowded to ride go- carts at the park because they had worn turbans. “Turban is an inseparable part of Sikh identity. This had happened even after the White House recently celebrated the presence of Sikhs in the United States for over a century,” said NAPA's executive director Satnam Singh Chahal.
