Texas-based Seismic Micro-Technology, the market leader for geoscience software, has been acquired for $500 million in cash by Englewood, Colo.-based business information services and analytics company IHS, Inc. (NYSE: IHS), which employs more than 5,100 people in more than 30 countries.
