JALANDHAR: Youth Congress Jalandhar Lok Sabha held a protest on Monday against the alleged SC Scholarship scam. The members also burnt an effigy of Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal. During the protest, the members organised a march past from the Congress Bhawan to deputy commissioner’s (DC) office.

BATALA: In yet another incident of attack on policemen, a head constable of the counter-intelligence wing of the police Harpal Singh was brutally beaten up on Monday by a former Akali sarpanch of Natwal village and his accomplices. The victim has been admitted to the civil hospital here with both legs broken and grievous head injuries.

BADAL (MUKTSAR): Three activists of elementary teacher training (ETT) and teachers’ eligibility test (TET) pass (TET) pass unemployed teachers’ union climbed atop a water works tank in Badal village in Muktsar district on Monday afternoon. About 12 of the workers of union attempted to climb atop the water to raise their demands but police intervened, though three succeeded in climbing atop water tank.

MUKTSAR: Despite a bloody clash taking place between Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) workers in Malout, during rally of AAP’s Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann, resulting in injuries to at least six persons, the police have registered a daily diary report (DDR) on injured AAP volunteers’ complaint but no first information report (FIR) is filed.
