Bajwa demands minority status for Valley Sikhs

New Delhi : Congress member of the Rajya Sabha from Punjab and former state party president Partap Singh Bajwa on Wednesday demanded minority status for Sikhs and special status for Punjabi language in Jammu and Kashmir. He was participating in a special discussion on Kashmir in the Rajya Sabha. He reminded the House that the Sikhs did not migrate from Kashmir even after the Chatti Singhpura massacre in which 35 Sikhs were gunned down.

Amritsar : Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee president Amarinder Singh on Wednesday announced that once the Congress formeds government in the state, the solid waste dump at Bhagtanwala, which was in close vicinity of Golden Temple, would be shifted out. “Instead of beautifying the holy city, the Akalis have decided to set up the garbage dump in the heart of it,” he regretted.
