Chandigarh : In an open challenge to the Akali Dal, a number of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) volunteers have put up hoardings across the state against Revenue Minister Bikram Majithia alleging his involvement in drug smuggling.

Dasuya (Hoshiarpur) : Rubbishing the Shiromani Akali Dal’s allegation that he backed the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on the construction of the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal in 1982, PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh said here today that he had clarified his stand to her at that time.

Bathinda : The Bathinda police today submitted a challan in the pesticide scam, in which former Agriculture Director Mangal Sandhu and five others were booked. While four persons were earlier arrested, Joint Director of Agriculture Department Nirankar Singh, was nabbed today.

HOSHIARPUR: Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh on Monday seemed to convey the impression that the decision that all Congress MPs and MLAs would resign in case the Supreme Court verdict on the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal did not come in favour of Punjab, was to counter the ‘morchas’ being planned by the ‘Badals’ in case of an adverse verdict and was a pre-emptive move to steal the thunder from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in the war over sensitive waters issue.
