MUKERIAN (HOSHIARPUR): Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa said he would sit on fastunto-death from November 16 in Chandigarh if sugar mills don’t start the crushing of sugarcane by November 15. He also sought the support of farmers’ organisations in the common cause.

Chandigarh : Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa on Thursday pleaded for the intervention by President Pranab Mukherjee for the implementation of ‘One Rank One Pension’ (OROP) scheme for ex-servicemen. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should deliver or quit. In a letter to Mukherjee, the PPCC chief said, “Please give the benefit of your sage advice to the Prime Minister. The time for looking at figures, accounts and planning finances is before a decision is taken and not after.”
