CHANDIGARH: The Opposition Congress on Thursday demanded the convening of an emergency session of the Punjab assembly to discuss farmer suicides, a day after a debt-ridden farmer ended his life in Fatehgarh Sahib district. “We urge chief minister Parkash Singh Badal to convene an emergency session of the assembly,” Punjab Congress spokesman Sukhpal Singh Khaira said here.
