Ludhiana : MP Ravneet Singh Bittu today flayed the Punjab Government for “letting down” the medal winners of the state by not fulfilling its promise. The MP said: “It’s shameful that the sportspersons who have brought laurels to the state by winning medals at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) and Asian Games are yet to receive Rs 2.65 crore, their share of the prize money as announced by the state government. The Haryana Government has already given the entire prize money of Rs 13.75 crore to all its CWG medal winners.”

Chandigarh : State Congress spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira today said the friendship between the Badals and the Chautalas was based on financial interests. In a statement issued here today, he said the Badals' decision to campaign for the Chautalas in Haryana by even annoying their alliance partners (the BJP) was based on monetary favours granted to them by the Ch Devi Lal clan.
