US to look into ‘violation’ of extradition treaty

After submissions by various social organisations and management of gurdwaras, the US Department of Justice has urged the State Department to inquire into alleged violation of the extradition treaty between India and the US in the case of Daya Singh Lahoria.

New Delhi : All ID cards provided to US Consular officials stand withdrawn, the government said today as India hardened its position in the ongoing stand-off with Washington over the arrest of Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade in New York on December 12.
