Patiala/Fatehgarh Sahib : Senior Punjab Police officers behind the international drug smuggling racket bust have sought “more security personnel during field duty” fearing threat to their lives from the arrested drug lords and their ring. The officers include a serving Deputy Superintendent of Police, two inspectors and a sub-inspector.

Student killed in California car crash

San Francisco : A Punjabi student, Sanjeev Joshi (23) of Visalia, was killed in a car crash on Highway 1, just south of Devils Slide in San Mateo County today. The collision led authorities to close all lanes of the highway for several hours, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
