Ward delimitation pending, municipal poll now in Jan

Chandigarh : With just a month left for elections to the 122 municipal councils and six municipal corporations, the Punjab government is yet to issue final notifications for ward delimitation of 30 municipal councils and all corporations. As a result, the local body elections will now be held in early January.

Fee hike protest turns bloody at Punjabi University - Students clash with police; 24 hurt

Patiala : Punjabi University students protesting the recent fee hike were dragged and beaten up by the police in one of the most violent clashes on the campus in recent times. More than 24 persons, including students, policemen, journalists and officials, were injured.

Cane price up despite objection by mills

Another paddy scam unearthed in Moga - 70,000 bags worth Rs 4 crore reported missing

Moga, November 18 : Another paddy scam has come to light in Moga district. As many as 70,000 bags of paddy, including gunny bags, valued at Rs 4 crore, have been reported missing from a rice mill at Dharamkot.
