Chandigarh : Punjab Cabinet on Tuesday, which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal here, approved an upward revision in ex-gratia for soldiers either martyred or disabled during operations within the geographical limits of the country. The family of soldiers who die during counter-insurgency operations will now be given an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh instead of Rs 2 lakh.

LUDHIANA: Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal came under attack from a mob here on Monday on the last day of his five-day Punjab tour. His Innova was pelted with stones when he was leaving a resort at Hasanpur village in the district after an interaction with local industrialists. The car’s wind screen was damaged, even as Kejriwal escaped unhurt.
