Chandigarh – Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will hold a meeting in Amritsar on February 21, officials said on Monday ending long-standing uncertainty. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is all set to take Punjab’s close business as well as people-to-people relations with Canada to the next level, with a one-toone meeting with visiting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Amritsar on Wednesday, said an official spokesperson here.

Chandigarh/New Delhi – Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan has expressed his opinion that the Canadian High Commission should take initiative to arrange a meeting between Canadian PM Trudeau and Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh. It has been learnt that Sajjan has asked Canadian High Commissioner in India to take steps for such a meeting. No official confirmation on this issue so far but the sources of High Commission indicated that the issue is being discussed.
