Dharmsot assures PUCA for early release of PMS funds

Mohali – A delegation of Punjab Unaided Colleges Association (PUCA) under the leadership of President, PUCA, Dr Anshu Kataria met with the Hon’ble Minister for Social Welfare, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot and submitted a memorandum regarding the early release of Rs. 115 crore of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) funds. Minister assured the delegation that after getting the green signal from Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, Rs 115 crore would be soon released to those colleges for which the audit have been completed.

New Delhi – Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal on Thursday sought an all India farm debt waiver scheme on the pattern of Punjab, while calling for restoration of the 90:10 funding pattern under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) to provide more avenues to the states to determine priorities in Agriculture sector, besides inclusion of Punjab under the special category for Border Area Development Programme. Badal made these submissions while taking part in the deliberations during Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s pre-budget 2018-19 meeting with state finance ministers here.

NEW DELHI: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday met Congress President Rahul Gandhi at his residence here and discussed the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. “Had a long discussion on 2019 Lok Sabha polls with Congress President,” Captain Amarinder Singh told media after meeting Gandhi. Besides the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the leaders also discussed the organisational structure of the party in Punjab.
