Ambika Soni to initiate developmental works on Tuesday at Khatkar Kalan

The Rajya Sabha MP and ex-Union Minister Ambika Soni would boost the flagship initiative of the Punjab government namely Mission Tandarust Punjab by distribution of material in the form of gym for youth besides initiating other necessary works worth Rs 5 crore aimed at development of villages as well as towns on March 5 at village Khatkar Kalan. This was disclosed here on Sunday in a press communique by state Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi.

Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has approved the names of 82 sportspersons to be conferred with the state’s highest sports honour – the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Award. He also gave his nod to a proposal to include 12 Padma Shri, Arjuna and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratan Awardees from the state in this list.

Chandigarh : The Punjab Council of Ministers today approved upgrade of Batala, Kapurthala and Abohar local bodies as municipal corporations, fulfilling the demand of residents of these areas. With this, Punjab will now have 14 municipal corporations.
