Amritsar : PPCC chief Partap Singh Bajwa today visited the flood-hit areas at Patti sub-division in Tarn Taran district and also met the affected families. Accompanied by PPCC member Harminder Singh Gill, Bajwa reiterated his demand for compensation of Rs 25,000 per acre to the farmers for crop loss and Rs 2 lakh to each family that had been rendered homeless. He said the government should release half the compensation immediately while the remaining could be given later.

Tarn Taran/jalandhar : PPCC president Partap Singh Bajwa today visited flood-affected areas in the district. He alleged the state government had failed to provide timely compensation to the affected people. He said about 50 villages in the district had been affected and crops over 50,000 acres had been damaged, but the district administration had not provided any relief to the residents.
