LUDHIANA: Punjab Congress chief Capt Amarinder Singh led a massive protest against the tax regime of the SAD-BJP government here on Monday. The sixhour rally concluded around 2 pm with Amarinder’s address, in which he said that instead of imposing taxes, the state government should have made investment-friendly policies to generate revenue and jobs.

Ludhiana : Announcing that the Congress would not give up its “struggle” against the imposition of taxes by the SAD-BJP Government, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Capt Amarinder Singh said today that higher taxes could trigger social unrest leading to a law and order problem. This would only encourage destabilising forces to rear their ugly head, he warned.

Chandigarh : Sanjha Morcha leaders will meet later this week to consider Pradesh Congress chief Amarinder Singh’s offer for a joint protest on September 21. Talking to the media at Sangrur yesterday, Amarinder had said Congress leaders would join the Morcha’s September 21 protest, if invited to do so.
