CHANDIGARH : A report of the special task force (STF) — set up by Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh to catch the “big fish” in drug trade — says that Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia had a “role in facilitating supply of a drug pseudoephedrine to two Canadian NRIs Satpreet Singh alias Satta and Parminder Singh alias Pindi” in the infamous 2013 Jagdish Bhola drug scandal.

Chandigarh – Taking serious note of media reports suggesting dissension among the top brass of the Punjab Police, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Saturday warned that he would not tolerate any indiscipline in the force. The Chief Minister discussed the issue with Home Secretary NS Kalsi, DGP Suresh Arora and CPS to CM Suresh Kumar, and directed them to examine the matter and suggest suitable action, as necessary to resolve the same.
PepsiCo plant’s foundation stone laid in Pathankot

PATHANKOT : Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh laid the foundation stone of a Rs 600crore plant of PepsiCo India at the Industrial Growth Centre here on Thursday. According to local Congress MLA Amit Vij, who has roped in businessman Ravi Jaipuria whose firm is setting up the plant, it will start operations within the next six months.
