London: Two men of Indian-origin have beencharged with the attempted murder of Lt Gen (retd) Kuldip Singh Brar, the hero of the 1984 Operation Blue Star, British police said on Monday.

Nakodar, OctoberA Punjab-origin NRI, Malkit Singh (42), was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Philippines yesterday. The victim was returning home from work when the incident occurred. He belonged to Balkona village in Nakodar sub-division and is survived by his wife and three children.
