Chandigarh: Congress Legislature Party chief in Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday demanded that the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal be dropped from the Cabinet immediately as he had failed in his role as state Home Minister as reflected in the high crime rate raising question marks on the conduct of free-and-fair assembly election in February 2017. Speaking to the media, he said the Congress would move for special discussion on the deterioration of law and order situation in the forthcoming session of the Vidhan Sabha for which Sukhbir was directly responsible in his capacity as the Home Minister.

Chandigarh: Congress Legislature Party Leader Charanjit Singh Channi on Wednesday alleged that Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal was patronising gangsters and controlling the police to influence the Assembly elections. Quoting figures of the last 15 years procured under the RTI Act, he said the high crime rate raises question marks on the conduct of free and fair Assembly elections.

Abohar: Minister for Food and Supply Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon’s claims of making the Blue Card scheme transparent fall flat after the Congress found “undated” documents and prescribed application forms, in violation of norms, at the Sub Divisional Magistrate’s (SDM) office. Sanjeev Tarika, a representative of Congress leader Sunil Jakhar, visited the SDM office and found some documents “not genuine”.
