Sangrur : Eighty-five leaders and activists of the CPI, including its national executive member Dr Joginder Dayal, courted arrest in front of office of the Deputy Commissioner here today. They did so as part of the party’s “Jail bharo andolan” against the Land Acquisition Bill, 2015. All of them were let off after around an hour.

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government faced the Punjab and Haryana high court’s ire for the second consecutive day on Thursday on issues pertaining to farmers. The high court division bench, comprising justice SK Mittal and justice HS Sidhu, observed that the state government should “remove the mask” of claiming to be “pro-farmer”.
