Health budget increased by 13 per cent, 74,015 crore for health services

Chandigarh – Punjab government has allocated Rs 4,015 crore for health and family welfare services in the Budget proposal, which is 13 per cent more than last year. For infrastructure, Rs 776.53 crore has been earmarked which include equipment, diagnostics and free medicines for the patients. Rs 30 crore has been proposed for CM Cancer relief fund.

Chandigarh – Punjab government hopes to receive all its assured returns from Goods and Services Tax (GST), which was implemented last year. During his Budget speech, Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal said, “We do hope that by the end of the fiscal year the state will receive all its assured returns. This uncertainty has of course also had an impact on the state’s ability to release funds for development works.”
