Ludhiana: The officials of Municipal Corporation on Wednesday faced the wrath of MLAs from the opposition parties during the meeting of Vigilance and Monitoring Committee (VMC) on urban development for ignoring them while allocating projects and funds for them. The meeting was held at the Circuit House here under the chairmanship of local MP Ravneet Singh Bittu.

Ludhiana : The issue of violating norms in the construction of bus queue shelters and outdoor advertisement policy rocked the meeting of Vigilance and Monitoring Committee (VMC) on urban development on Wednesday. The Congress and Independent MLAs raised the questions over the issues but the officials of Municipal Corporation (MC) remained tightlipped during the meeting. MLAs also showed the photographs of violations in the construction of bus queue shelters during the meeting, but failed to solicit any reaction from the MC officials.

Gurdaspur : Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh on Wednesday said that generating jobs and eradicating the scourge of drugs in the state will be his top most priority. He was interacting with the youth of the area at the local sports stadium. The PCC president said that not only will he arrange the jobs for youth, but he will also facilitate soft and easy loans to encourage the youth towards entrepreneurship, whether in transport, small industry or information technology and agriculture. He said that revival of industry and agriculture will be among his top most priorities as Punjab cannot survive without agriculture.
